PariVest Technologies Limited (‘’PariVest’’ or “we” or “our” or “us”) is committed to protecting our client’s personal information which we obtain to provide our services, as described here in our Privacy Policy.

This Policy is addressed to our current and/or prospective clients whose personal information we collect and control in the conduct of our business on our website www.parivest.com (the “Site”) or the Parivest mobile app (the “App”) and the provision of any of our products, features, digital assets, services, or any portion thereof (collectively, the “Service”).

Our relationship with you is our most important asset. We understand that we have been entrusted with your private information, and we use our best efforts to maintain that trust. PariVest protects the security and confidentiality of the personal information we have received and implements controls to ensure that such information is used as permitted by law and for proper business purposes in connection with the management or servicing of our relationship with you.

PariVest does not sell your personal information to anyone. Nor do we provide such information to third parties except as required by law or for discrete and reasonable business purposes in connection with the servicing and management of our relationship with you.

What we may collect

Personal identification information – We collect and use information about you to administer our Service. Information collected includes:

  • Personal contact information such as name, contact address, email addresses, gender, telephone numbers, details of next of kin, photograph and any other information you provide to us when registering with the Service;
  • Demographic information;
  • Occupation, Career history, professional background and investment history;
  • International passport, driver license or any other means of identification;
  • Transactional data, including financial information;
  • Information about your computer and your visit to and use of the Service including your internet protocol (IP) address, geographical location, browser type and version, device characteristics, operating system, language preferences, referral source, and information on action taken on the Site; and
  • And any other information we may deem necessary, and which may be required by the extant Nigerian laws and regulations.

We may collect personal identification information from you in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to, automatically on visiting the Site or the App, registering on the Site, making payments for our products and services, subscribing to our newsletter, responding to a survey, or filling out a form, and in connection features or resources made available on our Site.

While using some features of the Service, you may be required to submit information about other people. You represent that before disclosing such information, you have obtained that person’s consent to the disclosure and the processing of his/her/its personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

  • In the event of a merger, acquisition, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, arrangement, dissolution, liquidation, or other similar proceedings (collectively “Business Transfer”), the personal information held by us may constitute part of the asset that is transferred.

In the event that we use personal information collected for other purposes not identified above or in this policy where direct client consent is required under applicable laws and/or regulations, we will provide specific notice at the time we collect such personal information.

Right to Request Access to your Personal Data

We are committed to the protection of our client’s personal data and will inform when we disclose your data to third parties. You may request for access to your information at no cost and for the update of any inaccurate, irrelevant, excessive, outdated, misleading, or unlawfully obtained information be corrected, deleted, or in the case of a dispute, indicate that a correction has been requested, but not made.

Your Rights in Relation to Your Personal Data

You have rights as an individual which you can exercise in relation to the information, we hold about you under certain circumstances.

  • Request rectification of your Personal Data;
  • Request the erasure of your personal data in accordance with Nigerian Data Protection Regulation and after all due diligence regarding reasons for such request have been carried out, act on data;
  • Request the restriction of processing of your personal data;
  • Lodge a complaint about the handling of your personal data with the National Information Technology Development Agency ("NITDA").
  • Ask us not to process your personal data for marketing purposes. We will usually inform you (before collecting your data) if we intend to use your Personal Data for such purposes or if we intend to disclose your Personal Data to any third party for such purposes.
  • Be informed about the existence of automated decision-making processes, including profiling as well as meaningful information about the logic involved, the significance, and the envisaged consequences of such processing.
  • A copy of the personal data we hold about you, as well as the information about what we do with it, who we share it with, and how long we hold it for.
  • Consent to this Privacy Policy and withdraw your consent at any time.
  • Freely transfer your personal data received from us to any other person.

We may however withhold personal data that you request to the extent permitted by law as well as where it is deemed lawful as directed by a court order.

These include safeguards such as secure passwords, encrypted file storage and a secure office environment. Our technology vendors provide security and access control over personal information and have policies over the transmission of data. Our associates are trained on their responsibilities to protect your personal information.

We require third parties that assist in providing our services to you to protect the personal information they receive from us.

Internet Security

Although we have made efforts to secure data that you submit to us on our Site, as our Site is linked to the internet which is inherently insecure, we cannot provide any assurance regarding the security of transmission of information you communicate to us online. We also cannot guarantee that the information you supply will not be intercepted while being transmitted over the Internet. Accordingly, any personal information or other information that you transmit to us online is transmitted at your own risk.

As a convenience to you, PariVest may provide hyperlinks to websites operated by third parties. When you select these hyperlinks, you will be leaving our Site. PariVest has no control over third-party websites or applications, their content, or security. Accordingly, when you access these third-party websites, it is at your own risk. We encourage you to read the associated privacy policies by such third-party websites to learn more about their data privacy management practices. PariVest may, in its sole discretion, block links to our Site and Content without prior notice.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, we retain your personal information for the period necessary to serve the purposes for which we obtained it. We may also retain your personal information beyond such period in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, or another lawful basis, including but not limited to, compliance with our contractual obligations, legal obligations, regulatory obligations, legal claims, or another legitimate interest.

How do we keep your information accurate and up to date?

We will endeavor to ensure your personal information is kept accurate, complete, up-to- date, and relevant. Please let us know if any of your details change. If you feel your personal information is not accurate, complete, or up to date, please notify us and we will take reasonable steps to ensure it is corrected. How long do we retain your information?

We maintain personal data no longer than we need to use it in accordance with the PariVest Data Retention Policy. In some circumstances, we may retain your personal data for longer periods if in accordance with regulatory, legal, tax, or accounting obligations. In all cases, where your personal data is no longer required or you request for its deletion, we will ensure it is disposed of in a secure manner.

Accessing and updating your Personal Data

Whenever you use our services, we aim to provide access to your personal data upon request. If that personal data is wrong, we shall update or delete such data as soon as possible – unless we are required to keep that personal data for legitimate business or legal purposes for a longer period. When users request to update their personal data, we may ask them to verify their identity before we execute the request.

Data Deletion

We value your privacy and are committed to ensuring the security and confidentiality of your personal information. You have the option to delete your account and associated data through two methods:

  1. Account Deletion Button: You can initiate the account deletion process by navigating to the “Profile Information” on the account settings page within the PariVest app and clicking on the "Delete Account" button at the bottom of the page.
  2. Account Deletion Request via Email: Alternatively, you can send an account deletion request email to [email protected] from your registered email address with PariVest. Please include "Account Deletion Request" in the subject line and provide your relevant account details for verification purposes.

Following such requests for account deletion, we will take reasonable steps to remove your personal information from our databases and from the database of the third parties with whom we have shared your data. We will make every effort to ensure the deletion of your information in a timely and secure manner.

However, the nature of data to be deleted depends on your status on the PariVest app.

  1. Users with No Transaction History: If you have no transaction history, the following data will be deleted upon account deletion:
    • Personal details such as Name, phone number, email address, and profile image
    • Bank details
    • Employment information
    • Investment information
    • Identification document
    • Next of kin details
  2. Users with Transaction History: If you have a transaction history, the following data will be deleted upon account deletion:
    • Next of kin details
    • Employment information
    • Investment information
    • Email
    • Phone number
    • Bank details

Please note that once your account is deleted, it may not be possible to recover the deleted data. Following your request for the deletion of your data from our database, you may not be able to use certain features of the App although certain personal data may remain in our database following the deletion of your account.

We may retain certain data such as your name, transaction history and identification documents for legal or regulatory compliance purposes, or for legitimate business interests. However, such data will be deleted when there is no further legal basis to retain the personal data.

Who is the data controller?

PariVest is a data controller and determines the purposes for and manner in which personal data it receives is processed or is to be processed.
